FTSE 250 movers: Petropavlovsk shines; Greggs fails to impress
(Sharecast News) - London's FTSE 250 was up 0.7% at 19,304.27in afternoon trade on Tuesday.
Gold miner Petropavlovsk - which has operations in Russia - was the standout performer on the index as investors looked to pick up a bargain after recent heavy losses.
Hochschild Mining also shone as gold prices surged above $2,000 an ounce.
Flexible workspace provider IWG surged after announcing, alongside its full-year results, the merger of its digital assets with The Instant Group with a view to listing the business in the next two years.
Capricorn Energy was in the red despite saying it swung to an annual profit, boosted by the resolution of its tax dispute with the Indian government and that it hoped to return the refund to shareholders in the second quarter.
High street bakery Greggs was weaker after it warned of significant cost headwinds in 2022 from inflation and higher commodity prices.
