Sector movers: Travel stocks pace gains

(Sharecast News) - Travel and Leisure stocks rebounded at the start of the week amid reports that Israeli authorities were reevaluating the scope of a planned ground offensive into Gaza. Nevertheless, the odds of an offensive eventually being continued to be high.

Other cyclicals areas of the market, including Automobiles and Parts or Construction, also fared well, with traders apparently relieved that the geopolitical tensions had not worsened over the weekend.

Going the other way, for much the same reasons, were shares of precious metals miners and Big Oil.

So too some of the more defensive segments such as Pharma.
